FAQs
This page contains information about the conference. Please read through to find out more. If you're still unsure about anything, drop a message via email (accestud@liverpool.ac.uk) or contact us individually using the committee contact details.
How will the conference work?
ACCE2024 will feature student talks, plenaries, workshops, poster presentations and more, being held in-person. A schedule for the three days can be found within the Schedule page. More detailed information about the sessions can be located in the relevant pages found on the menu above.
Will there be behind-the-scenes tours of the collections?
Yes, we are arranging tours of the Insect Collection, Herbarium, Spirit Jars and more! More details to come soon, and these will be posted on the Tour Schedule page.
Where will the conference take place?
The Natural History Museum, Cromwell Rd, South Kensington, London, SW7 5BD
Will I need to book my own transport to the venue?
You are required to book your own transport to and from the Natural History Museum. Each
student attending the conference will have £45 added to their RTSG from the conference budget to help cover this cost. This money will be added automatically for all those who have signed up to the conference (so if you are no longer attending, please let us know!). You can then claim for a reimbursement of the full train cost from your RTSG.

Where should I book accommodation?
If you are attending the conference in-person, you will need to book your own accommodation in London or arrange to stay with people you know. We recommend these hotels due to their good transport links to NHM. If you are finding hotel costs prohibitive, please contact the ACCE Conference Committee.
Currently there are no COVID-19 rules or restrictions in place in the UK. If you wish to wear a mask during the conference then you are more than welcome but they will not be required at all during any part of the conference. Please do not attend the conference if you have a positive COVID-19 test. This guidance will be continuously reviewed and updated if government advice changes leading up to the event.
Is presenting a talk or poster mandatory for student attendees?
First-year ACCE students are required to give a 2 minute flash-talk at the conference. All ACCE student attendees are invited to present a poster or 10 minute talk, but this is not compulsory. Check out the guidelines for the talks, posters and presentations by clicking on the guidelines link!
